An Alexandra-based NPO We Care in partnership with Gift of the Givers recently donated
200 maize meal bags to 149 starving gogos in the township. Founder of We Care Palesa Letsoalo told http://www.siphosiso.co.za that only 149 gogos showed up at the donation and the leftover bags were given to the disadvantaged in the area close to the site of the donation at 80 – 18Avenue and corner Roosevelt Street while another 20 bags were handed to the St Emmanuel Church. Letsoalo expressed her gratitude to the Gift of the Givers organisation for always being there for her whenever she needed help with food parcels to give the aged and disadvantaged. “I cannot thank them much but would like the organisation to know that its help much appreciated,” she said.
