The postponed Nedbank Cup quarterfinal fixture game between Mamelodi Sundowns and
Sekhukhune United will now be played on March 28 at the same venue of Lucas ‘Masterpieces’ Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville. This was announced by the Betway Premiership custodians the Premier Soccer League which said the rescheduled fixture will kick off at 19H00. The fixture had to be postponed after the league learnt from social media that stadium management had seen it fit to accept a booking for an U17 Fifa Women’s World Cup qualifier that was scheduled to kick off at 15H00. When stadium management failed to response or repudiate the double booking, the league had no choice but to postpone the Nedbank Cup tie as preparations as per National Soccer League Handbook rules and security arrangements for the game would not be fully executed and complied with. The league said it would consequently have been reckless for the league to proceed with the match and so doing jeopardise safety and security of Nedbank, the participants, Safa match officials, the public, and the league staff and hence the fixture was postponed. The league said tickets are available for purchase at TicketPro outlets nationwide for R60 each and that spectators holding valid tickets from the postponed game must visit the verification booth on match day to receive a replacement ticket. It added that those spectators who opted for a refund will need to purchase a new ticket.
