Mamelodi Sundowns, widely regarded as one of the powerhouses of domestic and African
continental football, has joined forces with one of the world’s leading technology giant
Huawei. This was announced by the Tshwane-based giant, which is on course to win its 8th domestic Premier Soccer League championship of the Betway Premiership in a row, boasts of numerous domestic cups, three continental titles being the Caf Champions League trophy in 2016, the Caf Super Cup and the African Football League. The partnership means that Huawei will be the official mobile partner of Sundowns, a move
that is expected to enhance the Brazilians’ performance on and off the field while at the same time bolstering the club’s technological engagement with its fan base. From advanced wearable devices that optimise player training to state-of-the-art connectivity
solutions that bring supporters closer to the football action, Huawei’s technology will ensure Masandawana or The Yellow Machine, as the club is fondly known to its avid supporters, stays ahead of the pack in the game – both on and off the field. “We are thrilled to have Huawei partner with us in this journey of technology and sport, and we look forward to making a lasting impact together,” said club president Tlopie Motsepe, who added that great teams and great innovators thrive on pushing limits to the maximum.
