AmaZulu FC has signed a new technical sponsor that starts in the coming new
2025/26 season of the Betway Premiership.

The club announced the new technical sponsorship from PRIMO, which is part of the
Gemelli Group – a company with manufacturing roots and now home to brands such
as Clothing Junction, Victory Lab, and Senqu – at the AmaZulu Fan Experience on
May 5.

The deal sees Usuthu, which is the club’s nickname, parting ways with current kit
sponsor Umbro SA, with whom they said they have enjoyed a great relationship.

Club president Sandile Zungu applauded the outgoing sponsor saying, ‘it was one of
the significant and impressive contribution to the club’ and dubbing it ‘as one of the
easiest partnerships’ the club has had the pleasure of enjoying in the past few
seasons.

Zungu hailed the new partnership with PRIMO as well and said, ‘it’s a dawn of a new
era with great synergy between the club’s culture, vision and aspirations with the
Durban-based proudly South African brand’.

“This partnership means our supporters come first. It means accessibility for our fans
nationwide. It means AmaZulu is well on its way to becoming the lifestyle brand it
aspires to be,” Zungu said.

“It’s exciting that the gear is locally ideated, conceived and crafted, reflecting our
ethos and culture,” Zungu added. He also highlighted the added value for fans
through the integration with AmaZulu Mobile services, which will allow supporters to top up airtime, buy data, RICA Sim cards, and purchase club merchandise directly
in-store at Victory Lab outlets nationwide, promoting KZN, Gauteng and the Eastern
Cape.

PRIMO’s managing director Gian Chidoni outlined the backing behind the brand
which is a part of the Gemelli Group – a company with strong manufacturing roots
and now home to eight businesses, including retail chains such as Clothing Junction,
Victory Lab, and Senqu.

Chidoni said fans can look forward to a third kit design competition, with the winning
design set to be worn by AmaZulu in the new season amongst other prizes.
