Fan surge causes Nedbank Cup ticket sales fiasco

Open Tickets has apologised to the Premier Soccer League for the Nedbank Cup
ticket sales fiasco that occurred on the opening day on May 5.

Due to an unprecedented surge by fans in demand of the hot-selling tickets of the
much-anticipated final of the cup that turned up to be yet another Soweto Derby, the
third of the Betway Premiership this season which promises to produce fireworks,
caused major disruptions leading up to a system jam shortly after the sales opened.

A statement from Open Tickets acknowledged the disruptions experienced by the
fans and said they were hard at work to rectify the problem. “We understand the
frustrations of fans caused by the system delays and we are urgently addressing the
matter.

“A full report will be submitted to the Premier Soccer League and affected customers
will receive direct communication regarding ticket status, digital reissues, or refunds
where applicable.

“We remain fully committed to resolving the issue and restoring full service as quickly
as possible. Further updates will be communicated and shared via our official
platforms,” the statement said.
