If you are driving a Ford Ranger light commercial vehicle made available for sale in 2024 you run the risk of simply losing control of the vehicle and crashing with possible severe injuries and even death.
This follow a recall of those rangers by the Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa which informed the National Consumer Commission the recall was prompted by a realisation that the front lower control arm that may have been fitted on the left-hand
side of the vehicle instead of the correct front lower control arm.
Head of complaints and investigations at the commission Prudence Moilwa pointed out that the separation of the joint may result in loss of control of the affected wheel
of the said vehicles, with the corresponding effect on the vehicle handling increasing. “This may result in increased risk of a crash or injury. These vehicles were distributed nationally in South Africa and exported to Botswana, Namibia and Swaziland.
“Consumers in those countries too are required to contact their nearest authorised dealership for an appointment to have the defect repaired,” said Moilwa.
