The seasonal hotly contested battle for promotion for a spot in the Premier Soccer League’s elite Betway Premiership for the 2025/26 season begins on May 27 at a venue still to be announced.

A statement from the league said, as per the promotion play-offs rules, club 1 will be the side that finishes in 15 th position in the Betway Premiership whose battle is still on while club 2 and 3 will comprise clubs that finish in position 2 and 3 of the National
First Division (NFD).

The names of the two clubs from the NFD will only be known after the finalisation of numerous outstanding disciplinary matters in the league which may result in the adjustment of points depending on the outcomes of the Disciplinary Committee
sitting.

The play-offs will begin on May 27 and finish on June 14 and the side topping the mini-log standings will gain automatic promotion to the premiership.

There is also automatic promotion for the club that finishes in top position of the National First Division league known as the Motsepe Foundation Championship, but the name of that club too is being withheld pending the outcomes of the disciplinary
hearings.
