Sekhukhune United has confirmed the signing of prolific left winger Sphiwe Prince Mahlangu (30) from TS Galaxy for an undisclosed fee and duration of contract.

A statement from the club said they hope Mahlangu will boost their fire power upfront for the coming Betway Premiership season of 2025/26.

Mahlangu has been one of the instrumental players in the success that has been enjoyed by the Rockets for the past two seasons or so. “We believe his arrival at Babina Noko will boost our attack in the new season,” the statement said.

“We would like to welcome him to the family of Babina Noko with his wealth of experience and attacking capabilities as left winger,” the statement added.

Mahlangu, who has been with the Rockets for the past five years, has scored 15 goals for his former side and provided close to 10 assists, and Babina Noko hope he can bring that kind of mentality and play to his new side.

He joins the like of Bradley Grobler who was signed from ‘Matsatsantsa A Pitori’ as SuperSport United will fondly be remembered after they sold their Premier Soccer League status to Siwelele FC. Bradley joined Babina Noko well before the sale of the status which is still subject to approval by league’s Executive Committee.

Meanwhile, former SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt has resurfaced as head coach of newly promoted side Durban City, which was relegated about two seasons ago.

Hunt had been fired by SuperSport following a string of poor performances of the team which at some point hovered on the brink of relegation but managed to salvage itself with a last-minute draw game in which it catapulted now relegated Cape Town City.

Coach Hunt is highly regarded as one of the best local coaches in the Premier Soccer League and led SuperSport to numerous glories in the league before his current stint which resulted in his firing by the club.
