Orlando Pirates’ Moroccan coach Abdeslam Ouaddou continues to feed his critics humble pie as he persistently guides his Sea Robbers outfit through a golden path in the stormy Betway Premiership, and clinching his maiden Monthly Award for coaching excellence in September and October.

Ouaddou had endured unprecedented criticism from Bucs fans and soccer scribes alike after losing his opening three games, calling him a plumber and not a coach, who took over a well-oiled machine and destroyed it. Ouaddou calmly told his critics he was still testing combinations, especially with new arrival players, and once that was done, fans can expect fireworks and fireworks he’s delivering now as evidenced by the accolades and the team’s second standing in the league.

Lamontville Golden Arrows’ rising star midfielder Siyanda Ndlovu joined Ouaddou on the podium to receive his two Betway Premiership accolades as Player of the Month and at the sametime clinching the Goal of the Month Award.

The winners were selected by an independent judging panel consisting of Premier Soccer League accredited journalists and broadcasters. Ouaddou clinched the Betway Premiership Coach of the Month award after guiding Buccaneers to a perfect run during September and October.

The Buccaneers secured three wins from three matches under the former Moroccan international – subsequently guiding them to an improved position on the table after a false start in which he lost three matches in the opening games of the league in August.

Ouaddou’s tactics have been exceptional both in attack as well as in defense, with all three victories secured without a single concession. Arrows’ young sensation, Ndlovu, continued his impressive start to the season by securing both the Betway Premiership Player of the Month and Goal of the Month honours.

Ndlovu has been key in Abafana Bes’thende recent rise in form, finding the back of the net three times and contributing with three assists in the five matches played over the two months for the KwaZulu-Natal side.

The 23-year-old’s impressive dribble and clinical finish against Stellenbosch FC in their clash on October 22 in Cape Town was voted the Goal of the Month, edging out equally strong contenders by Marumo Gallants’ Jaisen Clifford’s strike against Kaizer Chiefs as well as Thabang Mathuludi’s last minute winner for Polokwane City against Chippa United.

As title sponsor of the premiership, Betway remains committed to bringing supporters closer to the action through innovative fan-centric initiatives – one of which is S’bonise & Win campaign which continues to bring excitement across all televised matches, giving fans attending home team matches in club colours the chance to instantly win up to R20,000.

To date, 55 lucky supporters have claimed their cash prizes. Building on this momentum, Betway has also introduced the Dial Up games, a new initiative where each of the 16 teams will host a game at their home fixture. Fans with active Betway accounts stand a chance of winning up to R50 000.
