AmaZulu FC has announced the signing of KwaMashu-born attacking midfielder Langelihle Mhlongo to bolster its engine room.
The 24-year-old, who joins Usuthu on a permanent deal as a free agent, arrives after spending four seasons with KwaZulu-Natal neighbours Richards Bay FC.
Mhlongo was officially welcomed to the Usuthu family by club president Sandile Zungu at the AmaZulu Fan Experience, where excitement filled the air. He will be donning jersey number three this season.
Before his professional spell with the Natal Rich Boys, Mhlongo honed his talent with local amateur sides Magic Future Stars and Ethekwini Coastal.
Reflecting on the move, Mhlongo expressed his gratitude and ambition to help AmaZulu realise some of its goals as a club. “I feel happy and honoured to play for a club I grew up wanting to represent, which is AmaZulu FC.
“I kindly ask for the supporters’ backing as I land on the Usuthu stable and pitch. I am ready to give my all to help the team achieve its objectives.
“I look forward to playing alongside my new teammates and working with coach Arthur Zwane and his technical team. I would also like to thank my previous club for everything they did for me,” Mhlongo said.
