Alleged underworld criminal gang kingpin Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala has denied his involvement in the disbandment of the Political Killings Task Team as claimed by KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service Lt-Gen Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.
General Mkhwanazi made these claims at his explosive July 6 press conference in which he said several high ranking members of the SAPS, including currently suspended Police Minister Senzo Mchunu were captured by a ‘Big 5’ criminal mastermind gang.
General Mkhwanazi also claimed that judges, magistrates and prosecutors were also among those under the clutches and payroll of the criminal gang, whose kingpin was described as tenderpreneur ‘Cat’ Matlala who was awarded a lavish SAPS tender during the tenure of then Police Minister Bheki Cele.
