Sekhukhune United has announced the signing of speedy Ivorian-born winger Amede Tidiane Diomande.

A statement from the club welcomed the speedy winger to its ranks, saying they are excited by his ball skill and that he would add much needed firepower and exciting attacking options to our squad.

Diomande, who was part of the Ivorin national side that has just been bungled off in the quarterfinals of the Caf African Cup of Nations (Afcon) in Morocco by the Egyptian side, better known as ‘The Pharaohs’ by the side’s avid fans at home, displayed his classical skills and play in the tournament and earned him accolades from sport commentators.

One commentator described the exit of Ivorians as ‘a pity’ as Diomande still had a lot of dazzle to display. His display of skills has been cut short following a narrow 3-2 ousting of the Ivorians by the Egyptian side captained by Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah, who also netted a goal in his team victory in that match as well.

Sekhukhune is one of the Betway Premiership championship contenders and Diomande’s arrival is expected to boost the outfit as the league races towards the finish line.
