Siwelele Football Club has confirmed that it is engaged in advanced negotiations with Belgian First Division B side K. Beerschot V.A. regarding the potential transfer of attacker Siviwe Magidigidi.

K. Beerschot first approached Siwelele on the player late last year, but their offer at the time did not reflect the value that Magidigidi had brought to the club, nor the impact believed he still had yet to make. “However, through ongoing conversations, it became clear that the player was eager to test himself internationally and embrace a new chapter abroad.

“We have always believed in matching ambition with opportunity. When Beerschot significantly improved their offer, more than doubling their initial one, the deal became acceptable and aligned with the best interests of Siwelele,” Siwelele FC CEO Lerato Kholoanyane said.

“While the transfer is not yet final, we are now in the process of concluding negotiations. We fully appreciate the fans Magidigidi has earned among the Siwelele faithful, and we acknowledge the emotional connection many feel. Regardless of the outcome, he will forever be part of our story.”

Kholoanyane described Magidigidi as having been a foundational player in the team’s maiden campaign in the Betway Premiership and a young man who helped set the standards of the team both on the field and in the dressing room.

At only 20 years old, he said Magidigidi’s potential is enormous. “We have no doubt that Belgian defenders will soon be experiencing exactly the kind of trouble he caused across our very own Premier Soccer League. We are proud of him, we are grateful to him, and we look forward to watching his journey unfold,” Kholoanyane said.

Kholoanyane said if this move was concluded, Magidigidi will carry Siwelele’s spirit with him, and he will always have a home in Bloemfontein.
